E-Quill-AirO2bic™ Grip-Less™ optical mouse

The E-Quill-AirO2bic™ mouse is the first and only Grip-Less™ mouse that keeps your mousing hand in a beneficial neutral and untwisted posture so your finger hand and wrist muscles are relaxed and under their lowest biomechanical load. It eliminates the twisting or pronation of the forearm, which can reduce your blood circulation. The hand and wrist are placed on the Wrist Guard™ (the heel and side wall of the E-Quill-AirO2bic™ mouse), that guards against detrimental flex of your wrist in the vertical and horizontal planes.

The hand and wrist are in a neutral position and are fully supported. The buttons on the E-Quill-AirO2bic™ mouse are 'center hinged', so that the entire switch is more naturally available to be actuated from any position, accommodating variations in the length of its users fingers. Complete with:

Quill Well

The Quill-Well Mouse Pad: with a surface that works in concert with the E-Quill-AirO2bic's High Glide Feet reducing even more the effort required to mouse. Most people click a mouse about 2,000,000 times a year, a small effort saved each time adds up. It also provides a visual reminder of good posture for when using your PC, and allocates an appropriate work space so as to get the most out of your E-Quill-AirO2bic™ by defining an area to mouse over (8.5" X 10.75") so as to encourages healthier movement of the upper arm.


Nib Click-Less™ Software

(Mc)Nib Click-Less™ Software (for Windows© or Macintosh©) automatically performs 95% (Average Word Processing User) of button clicking operations for you. (Mc)Nib™ can be used with any standard mouse, but is developed specifically for the E-Quill-AirO2bic™ mouse and provides for Virtually Hands Free™ mousing by being Click-Less. It reduces the 5,000 + per day mouse clicks (that is 1,000,000 + per year) to a few hundred clicks you perform as a computer user. Optimized for word processing applications and web browsing. It has a built in and user definable break timer with Add Back, that reduces your RSI risk and not your productivity. It counts how many clicks it performs for you and how many you do for yourself proving how hard it is working for you.

Virtually Hands Free™ (VHF) Mousing System

The VHF Mousing System™ is a 'bundle' of the E-Quill-AirO2bic™ mouse and (Mc)Nib Click-Less™ software. These products by Designer Appliances are designed to allow users to work in a position that ergonomists and therapists call 'Functional Neutral'. This is a position in which you are able to work while in a 'neutral' or near resting position. Limbs that are comfortable tend not to ache and if people don't ache, they are less likely to injure!

It is Universally Assistive Technology: by removing the circumstances that can create hand disability, it removes the limitations that mousing creates for those with disabilities.

It requires the same simple installation and is as easy to use as any other mouse. It requires no other specialized equipment for your computer.


Recommendations

The VHF Mousing System™ delivers the same level of protection from further injury for those with disabilities as it does for the able bodied. It is the only conventional mousing system that qualifies and is listed under Section 509 of the US Governments 1998 amendments to the Rehabilitation Act. (see: www.section508.gov).
